The Whiskey Knights played live supporting One Last Day at The Couch in Bracknell on 3 February 2023 and went quiet after, with Steve later revealing he felt deflated by the performance and wanted to take a break. It wasn't until 3 September 2023 that a video emerged on the band's social media of Steve and Ali at The Rooms Rehearsal Studio recording drums, a blog post on the website on 24 September revealed that a lot of writing had been happening and fourteen songs were in the works, three of which had been recorded and will be released as singles in the near future.
“Time” was one of the three songs, the drums were recorded on 3 September 2023, the bass in December and the guitars in January 2024, the vocals were recorded later on 25 May 2024. It was the first new music since the album Amethyst in November 2020 and was released 19 July 2024.

Track by Track:
- “Time" is a song that Steve wrote in 2009, from the same scrapped solo album that “There's A Fire In Her Eyes” is from. He tried to get it to work with various projects including the 2009 solo album, his first band Another Life and Echo Project but it never seemed to fit, so the song was shelved. It wasn't until January 2023 that Steve decided to bring it to The Whiskey Knights and found it worked quite well. The song has been the same since it was first written both lyrically and musically.
- “Yesterday is a cover of The Beatles and while I'm not really a huge listener of them, I really enjoy this song. First time I heard it was a few years ago at a show called “That'll Be The Day” with members of my family, this chap walked on stage on his own and performed it and it was amazing - I had to look for the song after and it was Yesterday. I never thought about doing a cover of it until coming up with the idea of adding a cover to each of the singles as b-sides, this version is more of a cover of a cover. I searched for other rock versions of it and honestly a lot of them weren't great until I saw a video of an Argentinian band covering it and it was incredible, so I decided to use that as the main inspiration for this cover. This is no where near as good as theirs (damn my lack of vocal talent) but it could have been worse." - Steve
