After the release of Whiskey Nights in October 2015, the band went quiet but behind the scenes they were writing new material and discussing a second album. It wasn't until 1 July 2016 that they announced their return and were recording songs for a new album. During July they did live broadcasts of two separate demo recording sessions featuring new songs "And So It Begins (Again)" and "Dream". 

The band went quiet again but continued to write, eventually revealing a photo on 22 September of an album song recording progress chart with sixteen songs listed along with a title of "Untitled Second Album", further teasing a new album. Writing and recording continued throughout the rest of 2016 and in to 2017 with an update in October 2017 revealing they were still working on new material.

An update in June 2018 revealed that recording for a second album was still ongoing and there was no indicator of a release date. In March 2019, the duo announced they had scrapped plans for a second album and instead were going a five track EP called And So It Begins (Again) followed by a second EP in the near future. And So It Begins (Again) was released 8 April 2019.

• “And So It Begins (Again)” was the first song written for the EP. The title is an in-joke between Steve and Scott, playing on the fact that they would announce new material is “coming soon” but would then go silent then some time later announce things are happening again. This would go on numerous of times between the first announcement of new material in 2016 and the release of the EP in April 2019. Steve wrote the lyrics for the first verse, Scott wrote the second verse and they both wrote the chorus.
• “Dream” was first written by Scott but it was missing some details which Steve filled in and wrote the lyrics to the second verse (which he also sings) and half of the chorus.
• “Favourite Worst Mistake”
• “Drunk On You” is the oldest song on the EP, written for the debut album Whiskey Nights in 2015, Scott decided to scrap it as he was unhappy with the initial version. 
• “99% Of The Time” is a song that Steve heard in a dream, he woke up the next morning, picked up a guitar and wrote it in an hour.
